How fees work
Unfurl is out of network. This is how paying works, in the order most people ask.
Insurance we work with
Bridgette is out of network and does not bill insurance directly. Many plans with out-of-network benefits reimburse part of a session, and your plan decides what it pays. Unfurl does not bill Medicare or Medi-Cal.
Most PPO plans may reimburse out-of-network sessions
Medicare and Medi-Cal: not billed
If you pay yourself
You pay for each session by card, including HSA and FSA cards. Your fee is given to you in writing before you start. A limited number of reduced-fee spots may be open; ask Bridgette. A session cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice is charged the session fee, unless the baby is unwell, in which case it moves to video or another day.
Receipts for reimbursement
At the end of each month you get an itemized receipt, called a superbill, that you can send to your plan to ask for reimbursement. It carries a diagnosis code, which your insurer sees. Your plan decides what, if anything, it reimburses.
An estimate in advance
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of what care will cost before you start, and Bridgette gives you one in writing in advance. If a bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.
Checking your benefits
Unfurl does not check your benefits for you. Before your first session, call the number on your insurance card and ask what your plan pays for out-of-network outpatient mental health visits.
Do you cover out-of-network outpatient mental health visits?
Is there a deductible, and how much of it is met?
What share of the fee do you reimburse?
